Might be your wick, if it's kinda frayed and spread out it won't light good, also if it's too short it won't light either. If you get spark every time it's the wick. Just take a tweezers, or a needle nose pliers and pull about 1/4th of an inch of the wick up so there's more wick then cut off the frayed end.

After flipping the lid, sharply move the lighter up or down once before spinning the wheel. This clears the vapor sitting above the wick so it can light in clear air.

do you get sparks everytime? if not, check the flint. a new one is a quarter inch long. if yes then look to the wick height. if it's all black and short then it's burned and needs to be pulled up a small amount. remember you can always pull more but it's hard to put it back.
