Hello, I am helping someone with a computer problem.
They have a serial mouse that is not working at this time.
They claim that all the drivers are installed correctly.
They have Windows 98.
Their serial port is free of dust and other objects.
They are about to reinstall the drivers... again.

They shouldnt have any serious problems with 98 and their serial mouse. If they do, they can normally go to the web site of the manufacture of the mouse and download the correct drivers for it, being sure that they choose the drivers for windows 98. If they have additional problems, email me at dumbbutt4321@yahoo.com and i'll be happy to send the drivers directly to them or yourself. thanks, Larry.

1: I'd try the mouse on another computer or try another mouse on your friend's computer

2: Go into BIOS and make SURE SERIAL SUPPORT is turned on.

BTW, I've seen 2 button Serial mice in the DOLLAR STORES for just $1.00 and BIG LOTS Stores are selling GE 2 button with Scroll button mouse for only $3.00

is the serial port on board?

if so it is possible to turn them off in the bios.
to enter the bios press the del key on starup, they r normally named as i/o ports or serial bus ports in there
but becareful wat u change in there. u could really do some damage
if its not on board the cable may have come off the mainboard, i recommend u dont investigate this if u do not know wat ur doing
