I thought all juries had to have 12 people and have 12 out of 12 to convict (or aquit), but have never heard of only 6.

The Supreme Court has held that the minimum number of members on a criminal jury is six. Federal court juries have 12, but the states are free to use as few as 6 jurors in a criminal case.

I wanted to see the answers to this myself as I was not aware that there could be a jury of 6. Sometimes I get lucky, as I did this time, I really needed a laugh and the oldman gave me one!!

Federal law dictates the maximums and minimums for court proceedings. States are free to utilize what is best for them within that range. I believe its 6-24.
