what is your opinion on the new fashion trend of wearing a denim mini skirt over leggings and flat ballet-type shoes? it seems really popular right now but is it too popular? does it look good on most people or does it seem like they are trying too hard? please let me know your thoughts. thanks.

It sounds perfect, except for the leggings. My older sister wore leggings in the 80s (thank goodness I was too young to wear them) and she looked terrible, but that was the trend for a while.
I love denim skirts and dresses, I refuse to wear jeans or slacks (maybe a pair of sweats when its cool and that is my limit). The ballet shoes sound so cute with the skirt.
You might want to try and see what it looks like if you match a really cute pair of socks with your top or blouse. Don't forget you can also use hair bands, ribbons, bows and jewelry to accessorize your outfit, without having to resort to leggings.
Would love to see a pic of an outfit like that. Where I'm at in Ohio, the look hasn't taken hold yet (maybe it won't if the leggings stay part of the trend).

I think denim mini skirts with leggings underneath is quite overrated in my own opinion. It was okay for the first little while but now I'm becoming sick of seeing this trend everywhere. This trend should be on it's way out once fall passes. At least- I hope it will be on it's way out by then. Denim mini skirts with just ballet flats is very cute though and not to overdone... yet.

I like ballet flats, because they are cute and comfortable. I don't really like the skirt-over-leggings style.

i like the leggings and the whole idea, but i think its VERY hard to find a person that looks good in them. All the popular girls at my school wear them and basically they all look REALLY bad.

i hate those stupid leggings. i think people look reall dumb in them. i do like the idea of skirts with flats, just not the leggings. and its dumb how tons of girls are doing that now. you shouldnt do that just because someone else is, do it because you genuinely like it.

Its cute, but its just an eighties throwback. There are no new trends today, just recycling the stuff our parents wore basically...... If you like it wear it, if you don't, then don't.

i think its cute..... i'd wear it, but im too broke to buy leggings :P.
i got em in layaway...an by the time i get them out the fad will probably be dead, but i'd still wear them
i dunno bout the ballet shoes though...
