Their new song seems to be doing quite well, and their new album was at number one for two weeks after its release. If every person who spoke badly about the president were to be kicked out of this country, the US would be down millions of people, many who contribute very positively to the economy. The Dixie Chicks were just exercising their free speech in a way that really doesn't harm anyone, they did not abuse that right. Just because you don't agree with or like what they had to say, does not mean they are any less worthy to live in this country.

oh,
this is funny. Their is a war going on, there is the possible start of WW3 in israel,
and here is a question about the Dixie Chicks.
Please. the day you fight against freedom of speech you stop being an american and an american hater.
Freedom of speech, is something you can't stand. The president said we were attacked because they hate our freedoms......guess what so do you.
and then theres the the aren't free from consquences.........this is laughable too.
because the consquences are death threats to silence thier freedom of speech.
i never knew death threats and unamericanism was a heartland value.
have a nice day.

Ny goodness, aren't you the judgemental one. Are you an American, you know 'land of the free'? How did the Chicks 'deface the US, tear it's face off or spray paint it? Freedom of speech, twit, that's why you can write what you please, even if it is childish twaddle.
Go read the Bill Of Rights and start paying attention to your own Americanism.

Hey if we can allow Michale Moore or Cindy Sheehan to stay in this country I think the Dixie Chicks should be allowed back in, yeah I definently agree they have totally ruined theire career and they are definently wrong about what they said, but if people keep on brining them up they'll keep on getting more publicity. It amazes me that people actually care what people who are in movies and music and tv really think about, or what they wear and eat and do. I mean look at Mel Gibson people pay more attention to people who make tons of money than they do to people who have more of a political influence on our decision makers. Why doesn't the media pay attention to what they say or what they do? I mean look at the supposed reverend Jesse Jackson, or the supposed reverend Al Sharpton, ain't they supposed to be reverends and not political leaders? I mean I heard nothing from the media about Al Sharpton saying "they are Jewing up the numbers" he said that at our White House in front of our President. But nobody ever made a big deal about that. Does that make sense?

Yes!! They exercised their rights as American citizens. They did not allow themselves to rushed by fear and not take a hard look at the evidence like the rest of the America public and a good portion of the world. They chose to see through the illusions and hold the Bush Administration/war machine accountable.Peace.

I believe the dixie chicks just said what everyone else is thinking, and they are the ones getting all the flack for it. What it really comes down to is that everyone else is so afraid to say anything like that because that might not "match" they're sterotype, and they could possibly be pushed away by they're clique. I think it took guts to say what they said, have you heard they're new song, "I'm not ready to make nice".....great song, good message.

Yes, they're American citizens, and they can say what they want... They didn't ruin their career, I didn't listen to them to begin with, but if they had, this wouldn't have changed anything.
