My favorite type of movie is the classic feel-good movie.
Let me explain. That includes, action, suspense, thrillers, romantic comedies, regular comedies, adventure, drama, fantasy, sci-fi, independent films..., basically anything that makes me feel... something at the end of the movie.
If I've learned something through a movie-- for instance, that having an gasoline party is actually not a smart idea (Zoolander) or that a man has to make his own way and be tough to be respected in the family business (The Godfather) -- then I think that movie is worth remembering.

So it's not really about the genre, it's about what the movie does. If it can make you laugh, cry, smile, frown, and always leave you wanting more, then it's gold in my book.

A good action flick - Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Zorro, the Mummy, and most recently The Island.

There great because, ususally, there is a clear good guy, a clear bad guy, a goal or objective for the hero thus creating a reason for the villain to go after him, and finally the acheivement of the goal.

Not to mention most action flicks have some comedy and really great one-liners.

One of the best movies, I think, is The Princess Bride. It has romance, action, and comedy. How many people HAVEN'T seen it? The lines are quoteable and funny. I also enjoy mystery and some drama, but the Princess Bride combines it all. It is the perfect example of what makes a classic movie.

I love mafia movies. I think that America has always sided with the rebells and I am amazed by how they can get away with the crime that they do. The best mafia movie has to be Goodfellas. All the crime committed in that movie that went unchecked is amazing.

Well, if I had to pick just one that I usually always like it would be westerns. It's funny, most people would never guess that I even liked them, but they usually have everything. Also, they have to rely mostly on plot and writing because there's not aliens and monsters or off the wall things to distract people.
