OK...I am going to tell you my story and see if helps you!
I had a best friend, who was a guy, from the time I was 12 until now. OK, when I was about 16, I noticed that I had feelings for him. One day he asked me to set him up with someone, because he was tired of being alone. (Silly me didn't get the hint, and didn't think he was interested in me.) So, I set him up with a girl friend of mine. Well, they ended up getting married and she was the worst thing that could ever happen to him. A few years and a baby later, they got divorced. This is when I had my 2nd chance to tell him how I felt. But instead I just made things worse, I waited on him, and he was waiting on me. Well we lost contact again for 2 years. The next time I saw him was a week before my wedding to my husband I am now married to. And he told me that night his feelings. I told him mine, but we had grown and changed so much, and we felt that our friendship was probably the best thing for us. I had not talked to him since that night, until tonight, a year and a half later. And still just talking to him online, I got butterfly's in my stomache. But I am married, and he is dateing a wonderful girl, and is really happy. I am happy for him, and I love my husband, but I still wonder what might have been!
I have said all that to say this, life is too short, take chances. If he doesn't feel the same way, the awkwardness will fad, but if you don't take the chance, you may end up like me!
Good luck!

It's going to be awkward but it's worth it in the end. Maybe he hasn't even been considering it and it will put the thought of you two as a couple in his mind. Chances are, he's thinking along the same lines as you anyway.
Are there any compelling reasons why this wouldn't be possible? Is one of you married? Is one of you devoutly religious and normally opposed to marrying outside the faith? If there's something like this, I'd continue a friendship only. Otherwise, it may be worth the risk. Just my opinion though.

Sometimes, love is lost just because of some words left unsaid.Im suffering similarly like you are but its better if u tell him.I know its not easy but its better if u try to find out his feelings by some means and then express yourself to him,im sure he will understand.Whether he accepts or not is solely at his discretion. All the best

if you have been friends with him for a couple years and in that time he has never made a move on your, i doubt that he feel the same way bout you. but you can never know for sure if you dont tell him. i think you should tell him. however if he says he doesnt want to ruin the friendship, its an excuse and he is saying he is not interested in you that way

If you really do love him them he should know at the same time you must tell him that you would like to stay friends with him if he does not feel the same way about you. But you wont really know if you don't tell him

i am not sure what you SHOULD do, but personally i would tell him how you feel because if you don't you may regret it down the road, tell him when you are by your selves, just say i think i have more feelings for you then just to be Friends, but if you feel differently i would still like to be friends.
i cant grantee anything but i know i regret telling this one guy that i went to school with my entire life

The worst he can say is "No, I don't feel that way for you." You won't lose anything, and if he says he does have feelings for you, then you stand to gain greatly. Go for it and tell him. Life is too short.

Tell him how you feel, then you'll feel better about yourself. Men arent' good with suttle hints! TRUST ME. plant a big friendly kiss on his cheek on day and then see how he reacts.
