i know what you're saying man. i keep wondering the same thing. if you look at old baseball footage, its a bunch of guys with beer and cigars just laughing and having a great time. now its guys on 'roids who just need to get paid the highest dollar they can. despite the fact that i feel the Yankees have some amazing athletes on their team, i cant stand them for just that reason, its all about money. you can see in their eyes, even after they've won a game, theres no joy there. its a business in every respect. and i understand that there needs to be a business aspect to it, but these guys dont look like they'd even talk to each other in the dugout, or the locker rooms. its easy to have the best team in the world when your team is the richest team in history. and its the same with all sports now, the more money involved, the less the guys seem to smile for their craft. it sucks.

It stopped being for the love of the game when the Texas Rangers decided to give Alex Rodriguez 25 million dollars a year. Seriously, I heard on ESPN once that he makes around 13,000 dollars every time he steps to the plate.

Professional sports can't help but be for money. If it turns you off there is plenty of amateur sport out there.
