Any of your local banks will be about equal for the free checking accounts with free stuff like online banking, checks etc. They have all joined in on the FREE,FREE,FREE craze that most of us consumers are looking for.
For savings, go with an online bank. They pay the highest yields and do not require large minimum opening deposits to pay you these yields. You should be able to get 4%+ with HSBC direct and ING direct and you will be able to transfer money to your local checking account. Look them up on the internet!

I have used accounts at several national banks and also at local credit unions. Each has its own advantages. I prefer to have my credit card at a national bank to obtain better rewards. Checking accounts I feel are neutral, free checking of some variety can be obtained at almost any bank. Loans and savings accounts I prefer to hold at credit unions for lower loan rates and higher savings returns. If I had to choose one financial institution only, I would choose one of my credit unions. You can gain membership to a credit union in many ways from the place where you live, work, go to school, worship, or by having a relative who is a member. Overall, I find that since a variety of banks meet my needs for different services, I use a variety of banks. I likely would never do business with only bank in the same way that I would not do business with only one grocery store or only one clothing store, just not enough options and good deals.

none...all banks are just trying to squeeze all of your money from you....they will just charge you for any documentation and there are no such things as free services in any banks (pls read the small prints)...they are even worse than lawyers !!
