I know that IN GENERAL, the Jewish community tend to be liberal. Yet, liberals tend to be anti-Israel. Why are Jews supportive of a party that does not support them? As a Christian, I cannot make sense of this. A little help???
(Anti-Semitic responses are not welcome and will be reported!)

Johnny Cee--I agree.
100%.
I guess they should wear their persecution like a badge...but they also need to realize who is on their side, and who is definitely not!

rayk469: like I said, I was generalizing from what I have heard in the media (granted, not the best source.) My 2 Jewish friends I have lost contact with (where I live, there just isn't that many), and it was before any of us had political cares or concerns, so I never got a chance to ask these type of questions. Again, I hate to generalize, but they do TEND to vote liberal.

Religious/Hasidic Jews are conservative. They follow Jewish religion. Most of the liberal Jews are Jews that are ether following light form of Judaism or not are simply atheists of Jewish background. Liberal Jews do represent the majority of Jews in the United States. The reason most liberal Jews tend to be democratic is because Jews are minority and they feel that the democrats represent the minorities better than the republicans. However recently a lot of Jews are leaning to the republican side. The evidence of this is in the past two elections 2000&2004. In 2000 Al Gore got 79% of Jewish vote and in 2004 Kerry got 69% of Jewish votes. http://www.duke.edu/~aru2/2004/09/how-important-is-jewish-vote.html
It's evident that Jews are slowly moving towards a republican party. As a liberal Jew myself, I trusted on
democrats on almost all issues until recently. Their betrayal of Lieberman and the liberal lack of support for Israel's right of self-sefence made me have second thoughts about democratic party. I think that in the future more Jewish people will become republican. The evidence is in the last two elections.

Guess you've had different experiences than I with the Jewish folks. Those I have known personally were not liberal, in the political sense. I've pretty much retired from all business activities these days and only have one Jewish friend at this time, but David is like so many of the others I have known, and is definitely NOT liberal. This goes all the way back to the early '60s when I took flight training with quite a few Israeli pilots in the Air Force up in Colorado, and continues with business relationships over the years.

No, your way off, liberals do NOT tend to be anti-Israel, they are anti-war, and Israel happens to be causing a war, guess what I'm a liberal, My family is Jewish (I'm not really) And the country of Israel doesn't represent Jews as a whole, if democrats don't represent Israel, that doesn't make me feel unrepresented, I LIVE IN THE USA, not Israel...I support democrats because I agree with most of their policies.

I honestly believe that truth hurts. Let me explain: For the most part, the Orthodox, religious communities are very right wing, and extremely supportive of Israel. My Synagogue syre has an Israeli flag outside. We pray daily for Israel. Secular Jews, who don't pray daily for Israel, etc. by supporting Israel would have to admit to themselves that this is where our Temple stood, and that G-d exists.
Many would rather not do that. Many try their hardest to assimilate, and ensure we don't stick out too much..

Because the jewish liberals are aware of all the lies the US media propagates about Israel and their justifications of war. All they want is peace but their country has different motives...See for yourself:

This documentary is made by Jewish people and some of the interviewed folks are in fact Jewish Rabbis. This really opened my eyes and gave me hope that not all Jewish people hate Muslims. I am relieved...

This is just a news clip which demonstrates the lies we are told on the news:

I feel you, fellow Christian. Unfortunately the liberals seem to
get more media attention than the conservatives.
Jews have been hated for five thousand years and it doesn't look
like that hatred is going to stop anytime soon. My personal opinion is that they have put up with hate for so long that they try
to identify with the haters(libs) in order to alleviate some of the
hate.
