I'm beginning to develop the same problem.
I think it has something to do with the burned out syndrome.

There are so many things going on in your life, that you just can't get anything done. I think the best way to combat it is to set your self small goals...like work through one hour, and then allow yourself a cup of coffee, or to check your mails. Then work it up to two hours and then three...and you will find yourself being awarded with a good feeling of accomplishment. Just do it, and don't think about anything else. Now I got to read this post myself 10 times, and hope I can follow my own advice. Good luck !

If it's not already true, pretend everything you do means you won't have to live on the street and hope for kind strangers to give you a coat in the winter.

Maybe you're an adrenaline junkie and like to create a challenge at a time when it's least recommended because you can then prove to yourself you've got what it takes and feel even prouder of your work/ability to handle pressure, or if there are mistakes, you can blame it on the procrastination. If you can replace this behavior with something more useful to you, and save the thrill of being needed "now" for another time (known only to you or it won't work) then maybe you can start to overcome and not lose your job.

It'd be even better if you just told yourself you must do your work without procrastinating and then stuck to it.

Good luck!

wow i cant believe that u havent done anyhting till now.... im only 16 and ive always had this problem. it got to a point where last year my school didnt no what to do bc i was scoring way above average on the government tests ( measures your mental and logic abilities) but i was failing alot of classes bc i wasnt turning the work in. every1 was making me so depressed, telling me im lazy, im smart but im rebelling by not cooperating but i really, rly, had a thing that i just couldnt do it .no idea why but ill tell ya im not xacly cured yet but what has helped is that i wnt 2 see a shrink( on my own accord, i told my mom that i wanted 2) and talked abt it.sometimes when u organize your thoughts the jumbled stuff in ure brain go away. i think what mainly helped was that evrytime i would get all worked up abt feeling rushed to do something, i would tell myself that these stupid, small details of my life dont really matter as much as im making it out to be. put yourself outside ure life 4 a second and try 2 realize how easy and uncomplicated the task is compared 2 how ure seeing it. do u no what i mean? btw if u ever find out any other ways plz tell me. thanx good luck

Oh boy, this is a good question for me to answer. My youngest son who is 14 is the world's biggest procrastinator I know. The way I go it is I set my priorities. The most important things are first. Make a list and write everything down. Once you start getting things done on your list, you will feel great! This will make you want to do more so you can really feel better. Keep on and on until you do it without even thinking about it. One day you will see that you aren't a procrastinator any more! Good Luck!

It's called being organized. Always meet deadlines long before the due date. Know what you need to get done and just do it. Stop fiddling around, sounds to me like you wait for things to happen to you, instead of you make things happen. It's time you take control of your life, it's like driving a car, you're the one in the drivers seat, you decide where you're going at that moment, the car does not decide for you. Take charge and be brave about it.

I believe you can change that behaviour. You can start making an agenda, scheduling every single thing you need to do.Using a calendar and writing notes about what you do.You can be instead to a procrastinator ,a person who has everything in order and doing everything one week before. I have the same problem before like you.Now is better than before. You need to be patient with yourself, taking a day for star to change that behaviour. You can do it.Good luck.

make a chart. at night write down what you would like to do or need to do for the next day. don't worry if you don't get all this done. thats not the issue. then the things you do get done list how long it took you and just how hard it really was. when you start to realize that most things were really not that hard and didn't take as long as you had built up in your mind, you will feel better with each task and start to do more and more. a friend told me thats what her therapist had her do.

Get back to me later and set your clocks ahead 17 and a half minutes. Get into Rockstar energy drinks . Find a significant other who loves you and will help you see the light. Don't lose the job . That's most important. See you Dr. and find out if you need some happy pills. You may suffer from depression and not know it.

Recognize that your procrastination is really an subconscious act of rebellion against the system and "the man". Make a time table and stick to it. Try one or two items and be on time and keep adding to it. Your have to make it a habit and stick to it.
