I've got 20 bucks to spend on iTunes, and I want some ideas of new bands. I DO NOT like pop, hip hop, or country. I'm looking for some cool indie bands. Any ideas music lovers?

I love Led Zeppelin, but I'm not so into classic rock. Indie and alternative for me, thanks!

Wolfmother! You probably know them already. Woman is okay but I think 'Joker and The Theif' is great and 'Apple Tree' as well. Sonic Youth is SICK. They always have been but their new album is especially amazing. I love 'Junkie's Promise', 'Unmade Bed', and 'Sleepin Around'. The Sounds are a new band, the girl hosts all those MisShapes parties. "Ego" is a good track. The Smiths!!!!! Love, love, love. "Handsome Devil", 'Ask', 'The Queen is Dead', 'Big Mouth Strikes Again', 'There Is A Light That Never Goes Out'. The Libertines !!!!!!!!!!! And the 'new' bands that formed from them, Dirty Pretty Things and Babyshambles. DTP is more punk, while Babyshambles has a more Libertines vibe. "Another Girl Another Planet" by Babyshambles, "What Katie Did" by the Libertines, and "Deadwood" by Dirty Pretty Things. Jeff Buckley is also a good artist, not indie, but really great. I love "Forget Her" and "Last Goodbye". Joy Division is a classic, my favorite song by them is "Something Must Break". Iggy Pop, you may not like older music, but alot of bands found their influences in him. Good songs are "Night clubbing" and "Some Weird Sin". The Rapture, The Raconteurs, The Presets, all good new&up and coming indie bands.ugh i can go on forever hope that helps!

Before you buy -- check out one of my favorite websites called Pandora.com. You tell them a song or an artist you like and they will search their musical databases and make recommendations based on your choices (you can also vote whether you like or dislike the songs they play to increase the accuracy) kind of like a radio station there are no commercials. I have been reacquainted with some old favorites and some great new bands I wouldn't have found through MTV, MTV2 or the pop media. Don't be shy they have all types - they are currently looking for someone with French or German music background to introduce a global sound. Good luck. Have to through in a plug to my favorite band Stella Starr as well.

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus. They're pretty good.

Also, Armor For Sleep and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
