My printer is of HP make ,model is 840C It is having some problem therefore it takes more than one mimute to print a single page in black and white also.
please suggest me what to do and how to overcome this problem.

Bin it... it is in computing terms ancient, you can buy printers these days that are 20 times faster for the price of a cartridge... Tesco sell one for £19.82

The advice the first answerer gave you is quite good. The printer preferences are probably set for "Best" or the like. Change that either to "Normal", or even "Fast Draft" to increase the speed of the printing. The quality of usual black and white text will appear quite well for normal reading. Not only that, but you'll use a lot less ink during printing as well.

Reduce the print quality to either draft or fast draft. You can also double check to make sure it is set to black only.

I think you have the quality turned up too high....go in to the settings and change the print quality to either medium or low. That'd be my guess without seeing it....
