Upper Holloway is not too bad but nothing too special either. Fairly safe area but not that close to the city. Best if you try to stick close to the underground (eg Archway). If you find a particular place, run it through the Journey Planner at www.tfl.gov.uk to check public transport connections. Popular areas for Aussies are Shepherds Bush, Islington and the Temple Walkabout :)
BTW for people answering here who seem to be having a problem distinguishing Australia and Austria, I have never heard Aus (pronounced Oz) used to describe Austrians. Besides, the abbreviation for Austria is AUT (eg in the Olympics) whereas the abbreviation for Australia is AUS.

Are you moving there from Austria or Australia? Just curious. Moving there too in a few days. I've found this website helpful. Hope it tells you enough about Upper Holloway.

I've only been there once - Holloway had a very nice old cinema, an a nice former cinema converted into a pub/restaurant.

To the best of my knowledge, Holloway is
nothing to write home about. I would prefer West Hampstead, Hampstead, or Belsize Park.
