According to articles I've read, he was fired for sexual harrassment. Reynolds said that he hugged a woman, and that hug was misinterpreted. Ironically, his replacement, former Mets GM Steve Phillips was sued for sexual harrassment in 1998.

he wasnt fired...he was caught in the lockerroom with one of the players and was forced to leave the station. But really, he was fired for sexual harrasment toward a female co-worker.
