It's hard to say. Looking over your previous questions, I can't decide if this is you asking a legitimate question, or you joking around.

So I'll give it a general answer.

People fear homosexuality for many reasons. They include ignorance, misconceptions, being taught to fear and did I mention ignorance?

I don't have a problem in the world with ignorance...as long as people try to learn and understand. It's the people who don't WANT to learn and understand....that's willful ignorance and that is the worst reason to be afraid of anything.

When you don't understand something, it is strange and when it is strange, it can be frightening. That is why the GLBT community advocates (or should) communication between us and the straight community. The more you understand, the less you have to fear.

Now, I'm not taking the straight person's right to not like us away. You can like or not like whomever you choose. Just do it while being well informed.

I don't know why you, personally, fear homosexuals. I can only hope that if this is a serious question that you try to find the answer wtihin yourself.

Hm. You're afraid of homosexuals?

But what if... you found out your brother was homosexual? Would you then be suddenly afraid of him?

I think some homophobic people are afraid of homosexuals just because they are one or more of the following:
1) afraid of themselves being homosexual
2) afraid that their own gender will hit on them
3) afraid that they'll turn homosexual from being close to one
4) afraid of the unknown.
I don't want to sound like I'm preaching or anything-- but I think the best way to get over homophobia is to accept everyone. The four reasons I gave for fear of homosexuals might be common among homophobic people, but it's not necessarily true. Not all homomsexuals hit on their own gender, and people don't turn homosexual just from being by a homosexual person... these are just some beliefs that homophobes sometimes have-- but the truth of it is, homosexuals are like everyone else. The only difference is that they face more discrimination than heteros, but... there are good, successful homosexuals, and evil, hobo homosexuals. Just like there are good, successful heterosexuals, and evil hobo heteros. Essentially, there isn't much difference except who they take to bed.

Many people are afraid of what is not considered the "social norm." Though homosexuals have made great strides for their cause, with the gay marraige in Massachusettes, homosexuallity is considered by many as not normal. You may be afraid of them because they threaten your manhood, and everything you stand for and believe in. Or you may be afraid of them because you might be afraid of yourself becoming one. You've got to ask yourself how you feel and why you feel that way, or talk to someone who you trust and who can help you. For the most part gay people are nothing to be afraid of, but you must come to your own conclusions.

Because you've been told that we're predators, that we'll convert you and bring you to our leader as an offering.
Now, seriously. Some people think that if you hang out with gays, you'll get bitten by some bug and turn gay. That's not true. People also think that gays have no self-control, and since we're "all about the sex" we'll chase after you until we get you. Also not true. Gays are regular people who just happen to date withi same sex. You might be attractive to some gays, but totally unattractive to others, just like when you try to pick up someone at a bar. She might go for you, or she might not, and women, who are usually hit upon constantly, and more so than men, don't find this unusual.

Do not be afraid of homosexuals. Our parents put that thought in our heads. We are human and have a right to choose how we want to live. I hope this helps you. We only live once make the best of it!!

Almost certainly because you do not understand them. In many people, there is a fear that homosexuality is somehow contagious and hence thay should be shunned. The fear is totally irrational, of course, but that does not make it less real. I had had little contact with homosexuals until relatively recently; I now work with several, and they are interested and talented people.

because your gay sooo obvious. u don't want to be around them because it will confirm your already growing fears of being a gay. the reason I'm sure stems from the fact your afraid of them. if u were straight u might be disgusted or just dismissive of this subculture. don't worry. u don't have to have sex with dudes but i think your gay.
