You're just saying that because you hate Kobe, his attitude, the rape charge, and the fact that he cheated on his wife. It still doesn't make that a true statement. You can't wish something that is God given. Kobe is the best and since his rape charge a large number of people are pushing James as the new poster boy in some sort of twisted form of denial. They just completly ignore that fact Kobe averaged 35.4ppg and point to Lebron's assits and rebounds. O.k. then John Stockton is the best player of all time not Jordan or better yet Dennis Rodman. Scoring is the hardest thing to do in basketball and in any sport. Unless I'm mistaken it is still the object of the game. Kobe is the best scorer since Jordan which is a fact. James is 6 foot 8 so how is him grabbing 6 boards a game amazing. What do you expect?

O.K. this provers my point who would go down as the better player. The guy with the most points ever and highest scoring average ever or the guy with the most triple doubles. I can't believe this is even in question. That's like saying a pitcher who breaks the record for most strikeouts in a season ever is worse than someone with a slightly better era.

Wake up Jack Kobe almost beat the Suns and would have made it to the Western Conference Finals to play the Mavericks that he single handedly crushed in the regular season by dropping 62 in 3. Lebron made it to the 2nd round beating the Wizards!

The object of the game is not scoring, its WINNING. What has Kobe done since Shaq left. Nothing. Lebron has taken not only a team, but a whole franchise that was terrible and has made them Championship competitors. Scoring 81 points is not impressive when you only pass the ball 10 times the entire game. 10 times Kobe had the ball in his hands and passed it to another teammate. R U Kidding me? Lebron will get a ring before Kobe gets one without Shaq. And that is what makes the great ones, ala Jordan, really great.

If you just based on physical talent, Lebron is a much better player than Kobe is. With is 6-8 200+ pounds of muscle, he is a physical specimen. But if you based it on basketball skill and passion for the game Lebron is far behind with Kobe. I don't care about Kobe's off the court activities, what I care about is his game. You'll have no-one in the planet to have the ball when the game is on the line than Kobe. What makes Kobe similar to Jordan and Lebron far from Jordan is the ability to be a leader, the problem with the players in the NBA today, the same way some players have a problem with Kobe, is that players have so much ego that they think they are the best player in the world because they get paid with millions of dollars and not because they play the right way. They don't want other players and even their own coach to tell them what to do. The point of all is this is Kobe is a leader and he leads by example as well as by talk. And if add this all up Kobe is a better player than Lebron is. And FYI this is coming from a guy who doesn't like Kobe. But this is no popularity contest, the question is who is the better player.

Kobe is no comparison to Jordan. It is not the rape charge, the cheating, or even his overblown sense of entitlement - it is his attitude towards his team. Even if Kobe surpasses Jordan in all time scores - he will never surpass Jordan in something even more important, all time wins. Jordan was not just a great player, he was a great leader. He had a way of bringing people together, and building a great team. Even when he had two of the most cuastic personalities in the league (Pippin and Rodman). Kobe, on the other hand, is a great destroyer of teams. He let his own ego destroy what was billed as the "greatest team to ever step foot on the court", and allow them to be beat by a team of "nobodies" (in the Pistons). Next year, every major player was gone with the exception of Kobe. And then this year, Shaq's team wins the championship - hmmmm.
Kobe sooo wants to be Jordan, he has even borrowed his signature arm pump. He will never be though, because he can't get over himself enough to put his team first.

People does not just say that Lebron is better than Kobe. The stat speaks for itself. Lebron started the league at 19 years old, Kobe 18 years old. Kobe had an extra year to learn the ropes, playing with the Lakers.
So we compare their stats at their respective age: 19, 20 and 21. And Lebron leads kobe in the second and third year. Granted James played more minutes, so he broke more records along the way.So people do what they always do, they extrapolate.
Sure Kobe scored 81 points in one game, I give him credit for that. Although losing out the ESPY award to a 12 year old autistic kid who scored 21 points in a matter of minutes really brought scoring into perspective, doesn't it?
It is not because he might be a rapist, is not because he is a ballhog (lebron is evolving into one as long as he plays in Cleveland). It might be because he had the potential to be better than Jordan (hence the number switch to 24, supposedly to have one up Jordan), but failed to live up to his potentials. You got to agree with me that seeing Kobe's career, that he could be better, he could enter the Pantheon much faster if not for his off court antics.
Seeing that you clearly want to hear it, then I'll just say it. Kobe is better than BronBron (at least he doesn't chew his nails during timeouts). Although you gotta to agree, that Kobe could have been much better.

Kobe is not a team player. He tried to be for a short time this season and reverted back to his same ball hogging self. He will never change. It's his ego that gets in the way. No buts about it.
If you really love NBA basketball you like all the players and appreciate a good game. When a player makes 81 points, what good about the game? What the hell makes that a good game?

We're right
And it's not because "Kobe is a rapist" or because he's a ballhog. It's just a stigma, he's probably not either. And a lot of NBA players cheat on their wives, read Magic Johnson's biography for one (along with tons of other players)
Lebron holds something like 24 records. For his age, he's done a lot. Kobe has accomplished some insane things in his career, but Lebron James is simply amazing

i think that kobe is a very good player and i personally do not hate him;ok he is averaging 35.4 per game and did beat many records .but the fact is since he has been drafted in 1996-1997 he really blossomed in 2001 as a leader - shaq was the true leader .honestly lebron who is younger ,got more maturity in his game than kobe to whom it took years to reach the level he has now (check the stats ) .lebron is the best

I agree with you. Kobe is 10 times better than lebron. He has the best skills in the world. They know nothing about basketball and think they're cool. He's the one who scored 81 points in 1 game. Go to google video and search kobe. You'll find amazing videos.

lebron didnt make it to the second round. the CAVS made it to the second round. not only that but they took the PISTONS to game seven. the pistons were supposed to win it, and king james and the cavs stepped up and almost beat them. kobe and lebron are very hard to compare, but they are both quite good. lebron is more of a team player... which in the game of basketball is always the most important factor. thats why lebron is given the one up on kobe.
