No I dont think so next we will be fighting about water..Are we running out? yes, unless we can make more dinosaurs and then compress them for millions of years.somebody should have known back when the first well was tapped that someday that well was gonna run dry and prepare for a replacement.I think solar, wind, geothermal should all be used. There are geothermal power plants near arizona. We should be getting hydrogen up an running.Any country that has active volcanoes can get hydrogen.

Not only is there plenty of oil, there are effective, functional alternative energy methods that are being warehoused until the production of oil becomes less profitable. The price will keep going up, and soon people will stop paying for it. Then, you'll see a flood of alternative energy products all at once, out of the blue.

Wars will be fought for the purpose of keeping the world divided, always in a state of instability. That way those who are in control now, can stay in control, without allowing opposition momentum to build and organize. And they can gain more control without people noticing. (Just like the war on terror eroding civil liberties). It's not really about the oil. OPEC is controlled by it's customers anyway.

Humans will start dealing with pollution or pollution will deal with humans. Free Enterprise is the top dog now, and do they really have the ability to understand and run an economy with so many major problems in the world.
Obviously, giant cooperation are so selfish that without appropriate regulation they will break the workers backs and undo the safety net put in place to hold the poorer than the rich up during down turns.
The pension crisis is a good example. There are many old companies that have gone belly up and floated to the surface with no money in the pension fund. A friend of mines father worked thirty years for the Katy Railroad out of New Franklin Missouri.
A few years after he retired, he got a notification that there was no more pension money to pay anyone. The pension money collected from the workers checks on a weekly bases had disappeared for thirty years plus disappeared.
My friend's father recieved the lowest level of Social Security for the rest of his life. This is the kind of security the twentith century and free interprize left my friend's father's generation to survive under.
This cooporation reality we have now is not designed to serve workers. 401's are not going to meet the retired folks of the next generations needs in the future.
So we are in trouble if we don't stop wasting our money on wars and destruction that we can not afford to rebuild with this struggling economic reality of today.
As for oil, we may destroy the oil wells before we use all the oil that we already have on tap.

I think it's Naieve to think all the world's wars will be faught over a single resource. As it is we are lessonning our dependency on oil because it is a finite resource and it is vanishing quickly. I firmly believe that we will see the end of oil in our lives, perhaps in the next few years but certainly not the end of war. We currently are seeing a war beginning in Israel over ideology so the wars over stubborness are far from over. I think we'll probably see a land war or two before we're all satisfied with our maps and some small squabbles about racism or ideology between countries that have been spoiling for a fight but the bulk of our battles will be for resources, natural gas, coal, drinkable water and perhaps even sea algea.

Oil exploration and production firms continually to locate and develop new oil deposits, although many of them are deeper, smaller, and more costly to bring in. Meanwhile, conservation, alternative fuels, and more efficient processing will keep up with worldwide demand, so there is no need to fight over oil.

For example, biotechnology, better choices of raw materials, and the latest processing methods make it possible to produce far greater amounts of ethanol and at a fraction of current costs.

None of them have ever been over oil, and we're not running out. We just don't know where to look. The oil companies are just taking advantage of the war as an excuse to raise prices.
