I know that makes little sense, so I'll elaborate. The band Clutch is arguably the best thing to happen to rock music in the last 20 years. Whenever they put out a new record, it immediately goes into the CD player, and stays there. Right now, I am in danger of disliking their latest, but I can’t put it away, because it’s so freaking good. This happens to me every time, and it makes me sad...

I know exactly what you mean! All my Led Zeppelin is way overplayed, and after I listen to it a lot it becomes slow and predictable, but I love every bit of it. I've never taken Led Zeppelin IV out of my CD player, ever; I get so sick of it, but I can't take it out because it's so good!

Yeah I had the same problem with Clutch. It seemed like when they had that big hit with Spacegrass I played it non-stop and then got sick of it. After time away from it, I fell in love with the band all over again.

I get sick of the exposure a band gets on the radio and MTV. Like when Green Day came out with Dookie. I bought it but then I played it so much and the radios played it so much I got sick of it. Now I almost can't stand Green Day because all these teens have caused another bout of overexposure.

Yeah I think after a 10 year obsession with Dave Matthews I'm starting to get burned out... which makes me sad because he SO rocks! Try this, listen to another band for a couple days FORCE yourself not to listen to your favorite band, if you still feel this way after a week, maybe it's time to move on and find another favorite band (until that is your band Clutch puts out another CD, then go back to obsessing)
