I agree.... if there's a lot of pain, especially in her back, she needs to see a doctor. But lots and lots water and cranberry juice will help ease her symptoms somewhat. Also, my doctor gave me a prescription for stuff that helped ease the symptoms (having to go so often) as well as the pain...along with the antibiotics.
Hope she feels better! UTI's are the worst.

Drinking things that contain a lot of sugar is not a good idea. Tell her to load up on water and to go to the bathroom whenever she needs to.(tell her not to hold it in) If she is hurting when she sits up it could be more serious than a UTI...she may need to go to the doctor. If I were you I would tell her to make an appointment ASAP. The sooner she goes to the doctor the sooner she will feel relief.

Drinking cranberry juice helps, as does drinking lots of fluids. However, if there is a lot of pain and fever, or it's been happing for a long time, she needs to see a doctor. That can spread to the kidneys, which isn't good.
