Every year major soft drink manufacters have these contests giving away cars, money, trips? Who wins these things? Or are they just to get you to waste your time and money in hopes of winning?

Yes, by boss in a small town in eastern Oklahoma won a brand new Jeep Cherokee in a Doritos contest and my daughter's mother-in-law won $10,000 in Publisher's Clearing House.

Actually I was a regional winner in a Kraft sponsored sweepstakes a couple of years ago for a Superbowl promotion - the prize was an assortment of Kraft products to host a superbowl party.

Definately not a big money jackpot but a I got a couple of hundred dollars in a pretty decent assortment of food out of it.

My insurance agent many years ago won the Lincoln Town Car from the McDonalds Monopoly game.

One of my former students won a the national championship in stacking Oreo cookies. She won a scholarship and a year's supply of oreos. She told me that her dad ate them too fast, though, and they didn't last a year.
