i hav a electreic guitar but dont hav a amp so i was told that you could connect your guitar directly to ur computer and hav it reocrded or hav the music commin out of my computer speakers ??? if thts rite i need to knw what typ of things should i be lukin for to do that .....

My husband does this all the time to record music to his PC. I simply purchased an adapter that allows him to convert a normal line feed for an amp to the smaller input for the mic line on his sound card. You can find them at most music stores that sell guitar wires as well as your local Radio Shack.
BTW by default you will record or playback through the normal sound panel but you can download other sound mixer programs that give you more range and sound quality options.
