Every day at about 4:30 my roadrunner connection stops working for like an hour. It also goes off at many other times. If you've had this problem, what was the solution if any?

Just started using Roadrunner myself after having DSL for 4 years. I am noticing the same problem. I get a message that says I am disconnected, then about 30 minutes to an hour later, it is back up and running. Fortunately, I haven't been using the computer during the outage times. I called TWC and they told me that the outages are during the busiest times of the day; when everyone is home, watching cable and Internet surfing. Now, since the phone is digital also, we have the same problems.

When I first switched to Roadrunner, my phone company told me this would happen because with cable, you share the connection with the neighbors and the packets get split equally. This does not happen with DSL. They haven't a solution for this problem yet but with enough complaints, they may be able to run 2 separate connections....or something helpful.

This is the time many people start getting home and start getting online. Its possible this influx of so many people in a short time could cause this problem. As far as at other times I have no answer. Call ur provider and schedule a service call, they can check ur modem and signal strength and probably solve ur problem in a few minutes. I work for a provider of RR and experience this problem on occasion while out in the field

hey,
what it sounds like is TWC shuts down for update during that time. And it could be only a select number of people are aloud access, to keep from over load. Alot of companies use that. I would though have a technican to come out and check your modem, you modem might not be working at peak performance.
