I'm worried that I'm pregnant..but I'm still getting a light period. Not to get graphic here, but back in April I had slept with a guy, we didn't use protection, and he actually came in me, the first time a guy has done that w/out me being on the pill. So now it's August, 4 months later, still getting my period, still getting negative pregnancy tests, although I took a test a week ago and it showed a VERY faint line. What kinda scares me though is that I'm a thin girl, don't eat all that much, but my stomach is starting to stick out right below my belly button. I used to be able to suck in, but now I can't! Also, since I'm not too sure if I am pregnant I drink alcohol here and there, and whenever I do, I get sick the next day (not usual for me) and I get lower cramps and backache. Is that a sign that I could be pregnant and I'm potentially harming the baby? I hope that's not the case!!! But still I don't know for sure if I'm pregnant or not. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I would take another test, but I'm sorry to say that there is a good chance you may be pregnant if there was a faint line. It doesn't really matter how faint the line is, if there is a line that means you have the pregnancy hormone. The only reason it would be false is if you are taking certain fertility drugs. I would act as if you are pregnant up until you take another pregnancy test which means I would hold off on alcohol and any other harmful substances. Give it a couple days so that if you are pregnant the hormones will build up to give you a brighter line. You can still have a period during pregnancy, usually it is light, but it happens every once in awhile when someone doesn't realize they are pregnant because of the regular period. I would probably go see a doctor too, you can go to a clinic and get checked if you are worried about money for now or if you don't want everyone to know there is a possiblity of pregnancy. If you are pregnant, let your doctor know, but many people drink not knowing their pregnant and their babies turn out ok. There could be problems so I wouldn't continue drinking, but if you let your provider know they can check things out and put your mind at ease. They are used to hearing similar things and so they will be happier that you are sharing this information than if you kept it hidden. Plus it will help you not to worry as much.

I am 38wks and when i took the test to see if i was pregnant the second line just barley showed. The box says that if any line shows up faint or dark that it is positive. I also had my period for the first three months with my first son so it is possible to have your period. I would go to the doc and make sure before you drink anymore and possibly harm the baby

Go get a blood test that is 100% right away. For a pee test it takes 14-20 days to really come through and that is with first morning urine. If you were 4 mths pregnant then were you say you are getting larger at would make sense. Has the period been "spotty"?
Have you had any other pergnancy symptoms? I would say to go to the doctor and get that blood test done asap and watch out for...
Missed or spotty period
nausea
tiredness
breast tenderness
moodyness
Those are some you would notice along with your body feeling very OFF so to speak goodluck to you.
~Maybe you recently got pregnant? Make sure to get that test done*~

Go to the doctor. I was 13 weeks ( 3 months) before my pregnancy test came up positive with both of my children. You should have been on prenatal care all this time, but that does not mean it is too late to start. Get to the doctor as soon as you can, in the meantime take care of yourself. Eat properly, and if you have any habits like smoking, drinking, or drugs STOP now. Good luck..Call a doctor..

you are not pregnant- or your tests would be coming back positive by now and you wouldnt have your periods- even if they were light. its possible- but how you explain your situation it totally sounds not like pregnancy.
you would already be 4 months pregnant if that was the case and you would be able to tell, at 5 months you can tell the sex of the baby and you would definately be showing a lot. your hcg levels would definately show up by now.
if you recently stopped taking birth control this could all be from that- but its best to go see an ob/gyn.

well with my first pregnancy a faint second line showed up, the doctor told me to wait a few days and shse tried again and it was a positive, some people can still get their period through some of their pregnancy but not usually. i would go to the doctor and ask for a test he or she can do a blood test which is more accurate.

It would be best to see a doctor about your concerns, and until you know for sure don't risk using alcohol, but be sure to let the doctor know about your alcohol consumption. If you are not aware of what Fetal Alcohol Syndrome is, it's best you do some research and then you will understand better why it's good to inform your doctor regarding anxieties of the alcohol you say you drank here and there. Good luck!

Having a light period while pregnant is possible and happens to many women. The best way to know for sure if you are pregnant is to see a doctor.

You can always visit the local planned parenthood chapter to find out for sure

you should go to a doctor, they would be able to tell you for certain, then you wouldn't wonder about it anymore. also, you are not helping yourself by freaking out about it, that can make your hormones go all out of whack, which could explain weight gain and the faint line on your test. my advise is to go see a doctor you trust, they will not judge you based on whether or not you are pregnant, they see it everyday. and knowing for sure is 100% better than wondering and worrying.

It is possible and not really all that unusual to have a period while pregnant. If you have any doubts, go to a doctor!!!!! The sooner youu find out for certain (yes or no) the better you'll feel.
