Working at a restaurant during my high school years, I had many a ventures! One that sticks out as one of the best was the night 15 minutes before closing time a group of long haired guys in wrinkled clothes walked in and sat in the coffe shop. They ordered and were a little snide in some of their comments, so being a little testy and with a whole lotta high school attitude, I finally asked, " Are you guy some kind of band or what?" They replied, Or what!" Finally, after their bellies were full, they asked me if I ever heard the song "Talking in Your Sleep". I said sure, and that's when they told me they were the Romantics. Of course, I didn't believe them, and it took them going back to their vehicle and proving themselves with cassettes, autographed pics, and various concert paraphernalia. I did get some cool stuff, but never have they released their single of a crabby 17 yr old waitress who hassled them at a restaurant!!! I keep waiting!!! ( They did tip good though!!!) ( This was 20+ yrs ago)

Several, but that's because my father was the original director for Soul Train, when it was still a local program out of Chicago. Before it was syndicated. Never the less, I did meet quite a few "bands" or performers.
Ike & Tina Turner
The Spinners
Earth, Wind & Fire
The Jackson Five
Quincy Jones
Al Green
Gladys Knight and the Pips
and many others.

Blue Oyster Cult walked into this small dive bar in Mandeville, Louisiana and quietly sat at the bar and enjoyed a round of beers---and what few people present in the place didn't know who they were!!! I deftly drew the famous BOC symbol on a bar napkin and had the bartender pass it across the bar to Eric Bloom himself.
Bloom looked over his glasses w/ a sly grin and wrote on back of the napkin and gave it to the bartender, who returned it to me--along with a beer! I read the note, which said: " Yes....HE is alive forever--so shall Rock, too!! Eric Bloom". As I looked up at the small entourage, they got up and waved bye....Bloom smiled and did a peace symbol w/ his hand as they filed out the bar.
I still have that bar napkin to this day.
And I will forever relish the five minutes chat I had with Molly Hatchet's Danny Jo Baker after he and the band gave a killer fine performance in a nightclub five years before Baker passed on.

My daughter met Rascal Flatts BEFORE they were famous. They were riding around the country in their bus trying to get radio stations to play their music!

I met High On Fire and Goatwhore after the concert. Some of them were watching my friend and I headbang during High on Fire's set and they thought we were cool because we were pretty much the only girls there. They wanted us to stay and party but unfortunately our ride wanted to leave.
