NO, she cannot sing and she certainly cannot act...that is painfully obvious.
However, due to her good fortune (pun intended) of being a member of the very well off Hilton family, she is nontheless a celebrity with some notoriety which enables her to be a "public" figure able to manipulate the public with her appearance on certain tv reality shows and now the production and release of her CD "Paris".
Her personality is such that she demands to be "out there" for whatever fan base she believes she has. Men like her of course because she has a certain sensual attraction that draws men's eyes and purient interests and curiosities, not to mention of course the lure of her infamous "sex tapes" which were released, according to her anyway, without her authorization.
I doubt her recently released "Paris" CD had very many recording studio execs clamoring to put her under their contract but instead, I believe we'll find out that it was "her" money that financed the release of the disc.
In time, Paris Hilton will fade out of public view. But, for now, with the "Simple Life" tv reality shows still being aired and now her new CD, she will remain in the tabloids and in our view for just a little while longer.

Well...You are absolutely right that she is not a good or qualified singer. But I have to say...she doesn't sound much different than many other artists. Personally, I am tired of hearing all of the overdubbed voices in music today. I WANT REAL SINGERS! :)

exactly she has the money. And while singing and acting in front of people I am sure they were like wow you are so awesome, just because they were kissing up to the rich girl!

to be honest i use to hate her but, she was born lucky and actually has a passion to sing and to my surprise her first single is catchy and good! i think ima buy her c.d cuz its differnt!
