This year and last year I have a lot of them that are extremely hard - so hard that I can't peel them and have a lot of problems getting them cut open.....I let them get pretty big because I shred and freeze the majority of what we raise to use for bread during the winter.....any hints????

Obviously, what you have here is a good example of zucchini incest. Yep, inter-breeding among the species. Solution: Introduce some seed from another source, and rub your zucchini together with a squash for good measure, just rub them together gently.

You need to water them more and give them more organic material by the roots and MULCH!!!!!
