You don't format a computer. you (might) format the disk drive/s. If you don't know how to, I would recommend finding out more first. Formatting your hard drive & accidentally erasing everything is not much fun to find out about.....afterwards.

You won't be able to format your drive while yiu are running on it. Do you really want to erase all your files?

If you do, download a boot disk from bootdisk.com. You can boot it and tell it to format c: and it will.

What do you plan to do after you have formatted the disk?

If it just that your computer is running slow, try defragmenting it by going into the start-programs-system tools-defragment. or remove things that are no longer used in the add/remove area, then defrag. Hope this helps you.
