Why are female breasts considered nudity, when male breasts are perfectly allowed to be shown in our society?

It is an uncommon question on a common observation.

When and why the women folk started covering the upper part below the neck is not known. But even to-day, the nipple portion in the breast is still kept zealously covered which is the main reason of curiosity that tempts the male watcher. Had it been exposed from the beginning, perhaps, the inquisitiveness would not have been so much. Fondling with the breast and the consequent sexual raising of the female partner can be explained as stimulus and response and attraction for the breast is associated with motherhood and childhood memories etc etc. But why it should be concealed does not appear to have been sufficiently researched. Breast like lips, as sensuous parts, could also have been left uncovered. Well, most of the girls feel shy to also expose the breast as it grows during adolescence and after attaining puberty which may be attributed to the conditioning of the mind in peculiar surroundings.

Albeit, the fact remains that this is one aspect on which more intellectual probing is required. Beauty is nudity concealed!

One of the main reasons is that this is a law that was passed many years ago when only men were the lawmakers.
Kind of like those old laws still on the books like the one in Georgia which makes sex illegal with anyone but your spouse.
No one has really gotten around to amending it.
Another reason is the fact that women while they may be attracted to a male body, do not get the hormonal rush and are better able to control themselves than men. For women sex and attraction is more an emotional state.

It's the Puritanical nonsense that the crazies brought over from England. Most religions are afraid of woman and since sex was dirty, nudity in women must be also.

Actually, that's not true everywhere. In Ontario, Canada, women have the same right to go topless as men. If a man can go somewhere without a shirt, then a woman can too. (Those "no shirt, no shoes, no service" signs don't discriminate.)

yes this is confusing. maybe because women's breasts are more developed and perform an actual purpose relating to a woman's sexuality, which is to feed her offspring, whereas men's breasts do not. who knows, maybe it is just what people were led to believe over the years..

because that's how we were brought up, in nudist camps nobody has a problem with anything. im sure that in some places in the world both men and women can walk around with no shirts on and nobody will say anything.
