90% of all communication is non verbal (ie) body launguage, posture, and eye contact. All communication about status is displayed by body launguage.

Depending on how much time you have with the person. Usually first impression counts (but not necessary accurate after some time spent with the person). Given time to observe, their words and actions can speak volume about them. Final assessment from us will again depends on whether we use our brain or heart!

Many people don't get past the visual.
But, we also use criticism. We have the alility to see the good qualities in people while being aware of shortcomings, but we sure don;t use it very much.
