Why in all the publick school's you can't even bring a Bible to school. One of my friends once wore a cross necklace and the teacher told her that if she wore it again than she would be exspeled from school. What's wrong with the picture her?

Your freind is allowed to practice "Freedom of religion". It's an amendment and it's against the law for ANYONE to tell her otherwise. That teacher was discriminating. I don't see why a small bible wouldn't be allowed in public school, it's nondenominational. You are free to practice religion how and where you see fit, provided that it doesn't interfere w/ other people's beliefs.

Ok...some things you must know. The teacher can not stop you from wearing a cross necklace UNLESS it is in the school rules that it is not allowed. IF that is the case, then you could get in trouble for it. However, if that is the case then there can also be a case made to fight the rule (through the proper procedures). The school cannot ban cross necklaces unless they ban all necklaces with charms or symbols on them. If they do, then they are violating the first amendment of the Constitution.
No public school can ban you from bringing a Bible. The posession of a Bible (or any other religious book for that matter) does not violate any laws. You can't preach to people, but you are allowed to have a Bible. In fact, the Bible can actually be used in lessons as long as it is from a literature standpoint instead of a religious standpoint.

I'm not sure if we are behind in this town or what but my daughter has never been told she can't take her Bible to school. Plus she wore a cross necklace for probably the last 5 months of school this last year and not once heard a negative thing about it. so sad what the world has come to.

Both teachers and students can wear religious symbols to school, and both teachers and students can bring bibles to school.
The First Amendment states: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."
What this means, in practice, is that you are free to practice your religion in any way you want, even in school. (Muslim students, for example, are allowed to leave class and pray during the school day, if necessary.) But the school itself can't promote any religion or encourage any religious activity.
If a teacher tells you you can't wear a cross or bring a Bible to school, you need to talk to an administrator, because the teacher is in the wrong.

Everything is wrong with this picture. People - LOTS of them - died for our right to religious expression. While no one should be compelled to say a particular prayer or attend worship services in a public school your choice of jewelry and the books that you carry is absolutely freedom of expression. If someone is abridging that right contact your local political representative or newspaper.

Okay when was it wrong for students to wear a cross? I only
thought it was banned for teachers to wear a cross or a star or
other religious symbols.

I don't think you can be expelled from school for wearing a cross necklace. People are allowed to wear whatever they want. Same thing for reading material.
