Colorado Avalanche.

Well, I started out as Devils fan in South Jersey which is typically known as Flyers territory given that we are close to Philadelphia. I loathe the Flyers (actually all Philly teams in general AND their fans) and it was always a big thing between friends and I because I liked the Devils more.

As I started college in the fall of 2001, I was near the Avs farm team (was Hershey up until this past season). I started getting in to minor hockey and tracking the boys' progress up with the Avs. So, I naturally migrated toward becoming an Avalanche fan. I tried following both the Avs and Devils, but I just found myself becoming more in the know with Avs happenings than the Devils. Marty Brodeur is still by far my most favorite player, but I just can't follow them like I used to.

I also appreciate the Avalanche for the contribution to charity and community. It's very admirable what so many of them do with their time. They really seem to enjoy it and aren't doing it to make themselves look good or because they "have to."

New York Rangers fan. Have been ever since I was little. My grandfather introduced me to the wonderful world of the Rangers. Became a fan during the glory years with Messier, Leetch and Richter at the helm. Watching them every game was the best way to be introduced to hockey. We won the Cup in 1994, and made the Eastern Conference Finals in 97. Since then it's been pretty awful. Didn't make the playoffs from 98 till 04. Finally made the playoffs last year thanks to Mr. Jagr. Things are looking up now, thank god.

Montreal Canadiens: Simply because I'm from Montreal (born and raised), being watching the habs since I was a kid, we are an institution of hockey, a religion, 24 Stanley Cup banners on top of the Bell Center, the CH was there even before the NHL came on, and this year I think we've got a complete team with Kovalev, Koivu, Huet, Samsonov, Johnson, Ribeiro, Bégin, Markov, Aebischer, Souray, Chris Higgins, Latendresse, Chipchura...

GO HABS GO!

Buffalo Sabres - The first game I ever went to was in Memorial Auditorium. Buffalo vs. Vancouver, Mogilny and LaFontain were lighting it up that year. My sister and brother in law took me (I live near Harrisburg, Pa) and I got hooked from the upper deck. I've been a Sabre fan ever since and now my children are becoming Sabre fans.

Sabres. They are my home town team and always will be even if i live in a different state. They are the hardest working team in the nhl because they have to be when they can't afford to use the whole cap allowed.

NY Rangers. My father and older brother were fans and got me on board just as the 1994 season came around. I didn't know nearly enough about the team or the game to completely experience that Cup win, so I'm still searching for a year when I can go absolutely beserk over the Rangers winning Lord Stanley's on my own terms. :)

Calgary Flames

Was a big fan back before winning the cup in 89, through the real rotten years and right up to now when things are looking good again. Grew up watching Lanny MacDonald, Joe Nieuwendyk, Joe Mullen and Theo Fleury to name a few. Now with Iginla, Tanguay, Kiprosoff and Phaneuf... I can't wait until hockey starts.

Go Flames Go!!
