Being a man I want to agree with you. We still have our fantasies. But fact is, like rape, these relationships are about power and domination. Sure, I wish I were 15 and my teacher had seduced me. But what is wrong is the situation where the underage male is dominated, or feels obligated to obey the adult.

Well females mature emotinally earlier than males so if there were an argument to reduce age of consent laws it would have to be the other way around.
I don't beleive that the law should be different for the type of relations you are talking about:
Firstly it would open boys up to abuse not only by women but by predatory males, you can't discriminate on sexual preference so if you say its ok for an adult woman to have sex with a boy then it has to be equally ok for an adult man to do so.
Secondly in the instance where a teenage boy gets a woman pregnant he will not be emotionally mature enough to be an effective father nor will he be able to provide financial or domestic support.

No, and for all of the same reasons. It is equally wrong for an adult female to take advantage of a teen male. Because we are a male dominated society to a certain extent, people tended to not really think that such a relation was as bad. I mean an adult male taking advantage of an underaged girl assumes that the underaged girl is somewhat naive and dumb, but hypocritically we assume that an underaged male was somehow clever to nail the sexy older woman. It is saying that males are smarter and more in control, which you know is not true, especially these days.

It must go both ways. The law must be balanced and also "blind"- in order to function fairly and efficiently. We do not like in an "eye for an eye" society. The law is designed to protect all- and in the long run, big picture- it really does.
Lets try and come up with other similar situations where a "more informed, educated or experienced" person could easily take advantage of another.... The law must be as it is. It seems unreasonable- but it makes good sense.
Take drugs for example... some are in fact relatively harmless and might be considered recreational... but in the inexperienced naive and impressionable it is deadly.

I agree. As far as I know that is the law. The biggest problem I have with these laws, is that a 18 year old can be intimate with a 16-17 year old and if the parents or the younger teen presses charges, he/she (18 yr old) is considered a sex offender and must register with the state. It can make it seem that the 18 year old is a pedophile or molester when in actuality, they we're probably having consensual sex with a person less than 2 years younger than them.

No, I do not agree. I think that both should be consenting ADULTS before the choice is made. Teenagers most of the time do not have the ability to make good choices, especially when it comes to sex. I do not know anyone who regrets waiting to have sex until they are older, but I do know a bunch of people who wish they waited.

It is against the law. If the boy is under 18 the law considers him too immature to make such a serious decision. The woman is guilty of statutory rape. No matter how much fun the boy had.

I feel the older female who longs for a younger male, under age, got some strong problems going on just as a older male who longs for a female underage. Male aspect, I 'm thinking this fellow is a control freak. For the female.........I'm lost for words.....I think it goes back to emotional problems or something or I guess it could be a control thing.

NO. It would be exploitive if an adult had relations with a minor. Emotional maturity should be achieved before engaging in such behaviors. Not to mention, it's illegal.

While I believe that a teen of any sex knows full well what they are doing, I don't think it should be made legal for either. They are emotionally immature and wide open for predators.
