Pregnant women produce more saliva. Its a normal side affect of pregnancy. I'd be more concerned about her not drinking water. I don't like water either but I make myself drink it. Maybe she can try those flavor packs that you put in your water. Some of them are really good. Or a wedge of lemon in her water bottle. Also, if you don't have one already get a water filter for your faucet or a filtered pitcher...made a huge difference in my water consumption.

this question i very old but just to let people know that UNFORTUNATELY this thing is quite common in pregnancy.
I m on my 1st pregnancy and 8 weeks. After vomiting this thing just started. You will be able to find out that some pregnant even spit 2 litres a day. SO it is not normal.... and the doctors guessed it is the womens hormonies but even they dont know....

I did that when I was pregnant. The doctor said my body was gearing up production of fluids in my body. The pregnant body needs and retains a lot of water.
