Some of my personal favorites (although I'm not sure if they adher to your tastes):
1. Fruits Basket (but I realy suggest the MANGA because it's more detailed and finished with 22 volumes while the anime stops at volum 6 and they are NOT going to finish)
2. D. N. Angel
3. Hana Kimi
4. Kare Kano (That's a really good one!)
5. Inuyasha (although in my opinion it gets repetitive later on)
6. Love Hina
7. Ranma 1/2 (gots tons of comedy in it too)
Those are the only ones I've got off the top of my head.

Wow I didn't know that many people loved fruits basket. I saw the episodes on the interntet and am thinking about reading the manga. Its a cute, sweet show. Yeah it does have some sweet romance in it.

of course how about Voices of a Distant Star.it's a movie. It so beautiful and you should watch it since your looking for Romantic anime.Very romantic it's about......oh don't want to spoil it for you.
rahxephon, full metal panic, love hina, maburaho,Steel Angel Kurumi, inuyasha, this ugly yet beautiful world. Hey these are some titles of my favorites so enjoy.
