my laptop died, and i cant get it started for anything, safemode wont work, ive tryed everything i can think of, short of erasing everything and starting over. if anyone has any ideas about how to pull the data off, because i really need to get it off, please help me out

do you have another hd?if so put that in as the master and the corrupted one as a slave and you should be able to access files on slave.@@@dont worry about people not saying your question wasnt written correctly as the whole point of answers is to help people who dont understand things properly,if we all knew everything like the person above there wouldnt be an answers site would there.

I've never seen a worse description of a problem in my whole life than this.
But, skipping down to your last sentence, I have been successful at getting data off hard drives a number of ways. Primarily, hooking up your bad drive as a slave on another computer. Then, even if the boot sector is hosed, no problem, maybe the rest is ok. Then, just copy the files onto the primary.
But I've never worked with a laptop that way.

You can reinstall Windows without formatting the hard drive. This will keep all of your data on it.
