One of the factors was the introduction of "closure laws". These laws made it manditory for all properites to be enclosed by fences, walls or other boundries. Many farmers could not do this so farms were taken over by people with business accumen who could run the farms and build the walls to. Farms were amalgamated and farmerr moved to villages, where they could commute to these larger farms to work.

The feudal system ususlly had villages for the surfs.

The Industrial revolution was another factor. Much farm work could be "mechanised", ploughing would once take 5 men 5 weeks to do could be done by one man and a machine in one week. People were released from the land but jobs were available in the towns - to build the machines. Towns grew more. More coal was needed to to run the machines and the mining industry grew. With it, mining towns.

As people, usually the rich and powerful, now had more leasure time, the demand for education grew too. The need for it grew too.

You take it from there!
