Henry Ford designed his 1st cars to run on Ethanol (aka moonshine) because he wanted farmers to be able to make their own fuel.
Back then there weren't any corner gas stations like there are now.
Ford started selling Flex-fuel vehicles in 1995
Chrysler started in 1998
GM started in 2000
Flex fuel vehicles are now on the road all over the country.
They can use gasoline and/or ethanol up to 85% (aka E85)
E85 fuel, 85% ethanol & 15% gasoline is becoming more & more readily available , especially in the Midwest.
Illinois, for example, only had about 12-16 retail gas stations that offered E85 , 16 months ago.
Now Illinois E85 gas stations number over 130.
Many people are already driving flex-fuel vehicles and don't even realize it.

(my nickname is actually my own contraction of the word Ethanol)

anything that has a high compression rate can be used as fuel, because of the density of moonshine you would probably need to increase the flashpoint by increasing the alcohol (wont be drinkable ill tell ya that) and at the same time maintain a low consentration of fuel to make it compressible and efficient.

It needs to be 180 proof or better and the vehicle should be capable of burning alcohol, either from the factory or by modifications.

good moonshine is made with copper condensation tubess...not poisonous...regular ethanol is not made with drinking it in mind, so it would either have a horrible taste or be bad for you...drink the moonshine.

technically yes but most engines are designed to burn petroleum based fuels which burn differently than a alchohol based fuel.
