I ask this because my good friend from childhood is gay, but has nothing against me or what i do in life (Sports, UFC, etc.) However his boyfriend seems opposed to everything not stereotypical gay. Its like he has to prove hes gay. I just don't get it . . . he expects everyone to treat him like any other person, but he doesn't act like a regular person. Just confusing.

I'm in my 30's and I've only met one guy like that.

Some people just can't handle being a part of an oppressed group and they live their whole lives defensively. I think gays like that give us a bad name. They are just like the black guy in crash who was so against white people and talked all this crap about them - yet he was a car jacker that killed people for a living.

Some Gay men actually wish they were women. Some gay guys just hate everything about men but sleep with them Thats what you call a good ol queen. They are more worried about what bag goes with what shoes and hate the male culture (Sports, Hard Work, Breadwinner)

Could be he is just tired of being bombarded by heterosexism. It gets old after a while. I know it is just part of life but its kinda like that Will and Grace episode where Jack says, "I don't care what you do in your bedroom but I don't want to have to see it in public." or the "I don't mind that they are straight, I just don't want them teaching our kids." ( I had tears of laughter on that one.)

I have straight friends and it really doesn't bother me. Mostly its just when I go out to like a bar/club. There is one in my town that is pretty kewl but I do not enjoy visiting it anymore becuase it has too many straight people. I know that is not PC but in many places if you are gay and go to a straight club you take your life in your own hands but we are just supposed to say welcome when they come into our clubs. Also, in general, there are less fights etc at a gay bar/club. However, as the number of breeders at a bar/club goes up so does the violence.

I know it is a good thing that straights feel comfortable enough to come to a gay bar/club. However, sometimes it just bugs me.

You will find the guys who had such bad experiences with gay bashing and just dealings with straight people that he has shut down and will not accept or deal with people who aren't gay. Unfortunately the homophobes can be the cause

It is more of an issue with his self image/confidence most likely. He is not fully comfortable with himself and that's why he acts the way he does.
