Will Halo ever become a movie?

Question

About a year ago I heard Halo, the most popular Xbox videogame, would become a movie. I was excited! But I was not thrilled about the wait until January 2007 when it was originally planned to be released, however just a few minutes ago I looked up information about it and it said it won't be out until 2008 now, what's up with that? will it ever become a movie or will it be pushed back until eventually they give up on it?

How do you think they will do it too? will it be computer animation 100% or will there be live humans in costumes and computer generated aliens and stuff?

I loved the games so much I just had to read the books to know the rest of the story. I hope they would start the movies from the books rather than the game because a lot would be left out!

Yeah, they just announced the director. It's a south African short film maker named Neill Blomkamp, not Peter Jackson as some have suggested. You can see some of his short films on Youtube, just type his name in the search feild. They are good, and the special effects in his shorts, for someone who is technically an amature, are amazingly realistic. More realistic than most big budget Hollywood movies today. Watch his short "Alive in Joburg", and you'll be confident he can handle Halo.

I'm sure it will be live action actors with CG added of course. They most likely be telling the same exact story that is in the game with Master Cheif, Cortana, the Covenant, the Flood, etc. I'm not that into the FPS, but the story is interesting and Master Cheif is one bad@ss hero right up there with Solid Snake, Link, Samus Aran, Kratos, and the rest of gamings legendary heros.

It will be a movie... I have a feeling that they wanted to postpone it untill they got Halo 3 out for playing so that they didn't have a mad craze at one time of the year... They get money this cristmas for the game, then next they get movie sales & possably a fourth game... And the next year DVD sales... and more game sales...

IMDB says it's in pre-production, which means they havn't started filming yet. So, it's possible it could be canceled.

I hope they make it into a movie. If you havn't read any of the Halo books, I highly reccomend them!

Um, it's a web series already. It's called Red Versus Blue. Check it out. It isn't a movie, but it's pretty entertaining.

it will be a movie. no doubt my friend. the director for it looks like he can do a good job. i just found a short clip of his that has a pretty good idea behind it. aliens who live here on earth somehow find themselves outcast from society and living in the slums of the world. here it is. not very long. youll like it if you like halo. see ya.

With Peter Jackson directing it, the special effects are a monster (look at King Kong) but it will be a quality film, not like "Doom".

i hope not. i love the game but a movie would be a bit too nerdy. please Hollywood don't ruin my game experience like u did with street fighter. that movie was awful!
