It will be comparable to a freshwater tank of the same size. The lights are the significant energy user and it will say on the plug how much energy it uses (mine says .7 amps/hour) and they will be off more then on.

Nope, only time it really consumes a lot of energy is if it is a reef tank, those powerful lights take a lot of power. Enjoy the tank and research before you buy! and patience is key! good luck!

Not really, its the money consumption that everything else involved in starting a saltwater tank will cost you that you should be concerned about. ;-)

No, an aquarium doesn't use that much energy. And the good you will get from it will be worth it. They are very relaxing!!!
