I'm not going to be using it for anything like a home business or something like that.. just for my teen pleasure. I want something in the $600-$800ish range. I want to know what a good laptop has.. as in GB and memory. How much?

Here is the one I'm looking at: http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/entnb_e1505?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Is that a good one?
Thanks for you help!

Also, I like using AIM so I want to be able to do that too. Thats pretty much all I do. AIM, iTunes, and searching the internet!

Just purchased one, haven't gotten it yet, I am seriously looking forward to it...I would not purchase acomputer without a duo processor, at least a gig of RAM, and a decent graphics card - at least 256Meg as a minimum (512 would be better)...

That way you're adequately prepared for Vista if you choose to upgrade *and* will be "cutting edge" for a significant periodof time.

Dell's are cheap and everything, but once they break, you might as well throw them out and buy a new one because it costs so much to fix them. I got an HP from walmart with a printer and it was about $700. I've had it for about a year and no problems.

I bought the Inspiron B130 about 8 months ago. A little frustrating at first but haven't had any problems since. Of course i don't know to much about cpu's to begin with.

WHATEVER you do, DO NOT I repeat, DO NOT buy a Gateway! I purchased one (granted, it was used) and the floppy drive kicked off, the power button is finicky, the repair service I got on it was sub par, and the company has been no help whatsoever in fixing hardware problems.

I would not go with a Dell, i heard they break down fast and they suck but an HP is a great way to go HP are good or Macs are good the new ones.
