i take it apart and clean the inside and then put it together again.

you could go out and buy a cleaner for it I think they make them especially for playstation 2 now but Iam not sure. You know what Iam talking about right those dvd cleaner things you just pop it in and let it run. Or if you dont have the money you could take the screws out of just the casing and take some rubbing alcohol and some q tips and swab it out like that but carefully.

I used q tips to clean the front and I blew on the fan to stip up the dust. Also I get some weird dirt in my controllers so I use a toothpick to scrape it out.

My advice is for the outside of ps2 use a cloth to get all the dust off.
And use a tiny brush to get at the grooves, hard to get places.
something like a small paint brush.

Use canned air it works well in getting out all the dust particles.
I use it on my computer all the time

u have to take out the tabs on the bottom and then take out the screws with a really small phillips screwdriver. then take an air conpresser and blow it out. then put it back together.

um if u just blow in the disc drive it kinda cleans it out
