Will Israel be made to pay for its atrocities?

I quote from Fox News so that the conservatives and Jew-lovers out there won't attempt to discredit my source (more reliable news sources state even more appaling numbers):

"4 1/2 weeks of combat has killed at least 789 people in Lebanon — mostly civilians — and 152 Israelis, including 113 soldiers."

How does this represent two of the most important rules of war; use of proportional force and not targetting civilians?

War makes me sick. This one could have been prevented, but the Hezbollah wanted war, and you can't bring about peace between two parties unless they both want it.
You know how "dirty" the Hezbollah fights, I'm sure. They put the civilians in danger. Now many of the people who trusted and sheltered and supported them are dead, as well as many, many innocent others.
I only hope they will be willing to stop their terrorist tactics, but at times it is very hard to keep hoping.

Although your question is very biased and one-sided, I assume that you are rational enough to understand the following facts:

1. Hezbollah endangers Lebaneze civilians by living and hiding among them, firing rockets from among them, storing weapons in houses, and generally using the civilian population as a shield.

2. Both sides have committed atrocities.

3. Terrorist organizations generally target civilians. This is true of Hamas, Hezbollah, and Al Queda.

4. Hezbollah triggered the recent conflict.

5. Israel could have killed 100,000 if the tried to - so they must be showing some restraint.

6. Ask any Arab and they will tell you that Hezbollah won the war, so why should Israel (the loser) pay if Hezbollah was victorious?

7. Neither the US or Israel respond proportionally to terrorists anymore. Both are tired of terrorist attacks against civilians and have decided that from now on when attacked, the "gloves come off" and Arabs get their a** kicked.

Use of proportional force is not a factor in WAR, when your in a WAR, you do what you have to WIN or you die. Hizbolah started this garbage AFTER israel pulled out of lebanon and the gaza strip, the arabs HAD what they wanted and still they killed and kidnapped. The arabs deserve whatever bad things happen to them because they won't stop their terrorist BS and they launch their rockets at Israel from behind schools and apartment complexes and expect to not be attacked there?
