It can't be!!! The Chicken dance is what it's all about. The Hokey Pokey people are just blowing smoke up our "assets".

Put your left foot in. Take your left foot out. Put your left foot in and move it all about. Do the hokey pokey and turn yourself around...
Repeat for a lifetime using different limbs, then write back and tell us if it's truely all about.

I'm no professional but i would say...it's about going to wedding receptions and getting totally trashed to the point you don't care if you look like a absolute jacka**!!
