So does my 15 year old, get use to it...jk
She wants your attention. I bet when she does whine you pay attention to her, but when she's quite you don't. Not that I'm saying you're ignoring your child, I mean when she wants your attention she knows that how she can get it. She's probable it's talking yet so she really has no other why of communication and if she is (IF) then tell her to use her words.

don't cater to her whining it will make it worse... a child at any age will continue a behavior if given the desired result - what they want... what is a phase could turn into a lasting problem is catered to... correcting the behavior at an early age is the solution... try to correct the whining with an appropriate request... for example the if the child whines about particular things respond by mocking her with an appropriate request "orange juice please" in a non-whiny tone... if it is just whining with no request do not baby her it will make it worse... if she wants something bad enough she will try another way to get it like pointing at it or trying to draw your attention to it in a different way

My 10 mo is doing the same thing.
If I take her for a walk or take her out for a change of scenery she seems to brighten up and I see the smiles I know are in there.
I think it is a stage, possibly boredom is playing a part, but like all stages, with patience and love I'm sure she will get through it.

if being pregnant has changed the amount of time and or activities that you have previosly spent with the child that can make them whiney. or she or he could be just a touch spoiled. We have a 2 yr old who whines is jealous of other kids we have and is definately spoiled! Let the baby rub your belly often and show it pictures of newborns so it will know there is something neat going on in there.

i disagree with the other people
she could be bored or she is just learning her voice and perhaps teething
my 4 month old just started the same thing it doesn't matter if she being held, playing, driving in a car, going for a walk, she is doing it all the time and also trying to put everything in her mouth
i think mine is teeth-yours as well

whining is when a child puts that whiny tone on the words they are saying. you need to use words to be whining. what is she actually doing?
you are supposed to be interacting with her at least 15 mintues of every waking hour. are you?

oopps! you spoiled her. Dont give into her whining..she probably is just used to getting held all the time. better stop this behavior before the next baby comes.

usually they want your attention..talk to her ..just say anything, moreover sometimes they can feel another baby is coming on the way and that would make them jealous...show more affection...do things together... gud luck

She is probably teething. Look at her gums, if they are swollen and sahe also bites things than that is it.
