Why would you shoot someone for slaping you?

I see the analogy that you are trying to make...its a bad one. What happened on 9/11 was simular to what happened in WWII...the sleeping giant was awoken. It is problamatic all that another nation is capable of is a slap in the face, but that is a draw back of being the most powerful country with the most dominating defence that the world has ever seen. I am sure your response would be some what different should that initial slap be in the form of a nuclear dedonation in say New York again that kills 25,000,000 people. Would shooting that person then be justified?

He might, self defense can be used anytime one person has a reasonable belief that they are in mortal danger. So if you are talking about a healthy 6' tall guy weighing around 200 lbs and an otherwise unarmed average size woman, then it is doubtful that he will be able to claim self defense. However, reverse it and have the guy slap the woman it might well be a defendable position.....don't have the slightest idea what analogy you are trying to make.

A man has no right to shoot a woman who slaps him because the reaction to the provocation is not proper to be cited as a ground for self defense. Slapping will not result to death and it is not proper for the man to shoot the woman. He can file a case for being slapped under the Penal Law.

No. Lethal defensive force should only be used in the threat of lethal offensive force. For example, if a person comes at you with a knife or a broken bottle, chances are he intends for you to be crippled or dead. Shoot him.
A bare handed slap from anyone but a Bruce Lee type is not lethal, and would get you a comfortable jail cell. ESPECIALLY if a smaller woman slapped you!

Why would anyone want to use a weapon on someone for a slap in the face. You should have talked things about before that slap even occurred.

No two wrongs make a right. AND violence is not answer to any problem.

So put your weapon back in your holster and calm down.

If you are trying for some warped analogy between this and the Hezbollah/Israeli war, you are way off on making it a good one. Do some research and then try again.

If you weren't going for that, then I have no clue what you are shooting for here.

IF she slaps him hard enough to make him fear for his life,he definitely should shoot the little b****. I think you get the analogy

Your analogy is false. You are comparing a skin cell on the man's face with a human life (in real life...an Israeli life).

In Michigan the legislature just passed a law that allows us to use whatever degree of force we deem necessary to protect ourselves from physical harm. I bought myself a couple of Samurai swords to behead any Muslim that may attack my person or family. We have to be very careful here in Michigan, we have a huge population of Arabs in Dearborn, near Detroit. It is said that we are infested with al Queda and Hezbollah extremists.

kinda confused, are you making a point that sometimes the punishment doesnt fit the crime? or are you saying all acts of violence are equal? or two negitives make a right?? i dont know what your anology is????
either way i dont think either is right, but taking a gun and shooting someone for any reason cant possibly be the answer - can it??
