Depends what kind of drivers you are talking about. I upgrade my graphics drivers all the time, and those come for free. In fact, I haven't found drivers yet that require $$$. Just google the device name + the word "drivers" and u should get what you need.

Most of All drivers are free. But downloading them is the tricky part. You need to know the model number of the device you're trying to get the driver for. For example, if you have a GigaByte board, you need to visit http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/ for their various downloads depending on your model. Most manufacturers supply drivers for no charge.
