I was taught there are seven charkras, from the base upward, and are represented by the colours of the rainbow - red (root, base of spine), orange (sacrum or reproductive organs), yellow (solar plexus), green (heart), blue (throat), indigo (third eye, forehead), and violet (crown - top of head). White appears beyond (above) the crown when one has attained "enlightenment". I've heard some folks refer to the enlightenment aura as gold, but I think that's a New-Age twist, and have never found any traditional reference to it.

Chakras are the energy centers in a living human body through which the 'Pranic energy' flows. These are called plexus or energy centers in English. You may read a profound book on the subject by Sir John Woodroff, in his masterpiece entitled ' The Serpent Power' now available with Ganesh & Co. in Chennai marketed by M/S Motilal Banarasidas & Co. in India.

There are six major Chakras starting from the Muladhar located at the end region of the spinal chord. Next to that is Swadhisthan located at the central region of the genital organ inside the body. The third one is Manipura in line with the naval around the spinal chord. The fourth one is near the heart region called Anahata and next to that is Vishuddha near the thyroid gland. The sixth one is located in between the eye brows called Agnya Chakra and the the end point is inside the brain called Sahasrara which is near around Pineal gland.
If one practises through pranayama and regular meditation on these energy centers, gradually the secret energy which is lying in a coil like form ( like a serpant ) climbs upwards, stage by stage and reaches the pinacle in the gross body that unfolds the intuitive power by which an adept can do things which an average can hardly conceive of.

A punya bhoomi by using fact of its diverse history , cultural variety & tolerance. you will not discover such a lot of religions, languages and so on. co- present in unity everywhere else. India is likewise the land of super human beings like Vivekananda & Gandhiji. Karma bhoomi is a land the place you discharge your duties. as a result, human beings doing their rightful duties in India, can call her their Karma bhoomi.
