I left my drink on the coffee table while I put the kids to bed, and it looks like my dog drank it. He's wandering around bumping into things, and my cup is empty, knocked onto the floor.

I don't know if I should get the video camera out, or call the emergency vet.

It's a 60 pound dog, and it was a double rum and coke. Has anyone else ever seen a wasted dog? If so, will he just sleep it off?

Ohmigod....what should i do if my dog eats my bag?
My cat has gotten into my bag before, and she appently thought it was catnip, but she didn't spaz out like a cat normally would on catnip, she just plopped her face in her bowl of Vital Kitty food.

Given his weight, I'd probably let him sleep it off, though if he's still acting odd (as opposed to sleeping normally -- and by this I mean, make sure he isn't having breathing problems) in about 4 hours, you might contact your vet.

My parents used to give our dog white wine during bad thunderstorms or on the Fourth of July because she would absolutely freak with the loud noises... while I never measured the content, it did calm her down and she was always fine the next morning.

However, as an aside, you might video tape the experience and contact "America's Funniest Home Videos"... I know I'd laugh at the act!

(PS. As to your comments "Slap Dat Ho", in my experience, the excretory process the next morning is more forcefull -- i.e. liquid -- than constipated... though I admit this is after drinking noticably more than just a double rum and coke!)

I would give it a night and see if he's better the next day. If he is still bumping into things then I would get to a vet and have them check it out. I know of dogs that have had too much to drink because the owners allow them. They were ok after about a day. Thank you for having it be an accident because I think it's so cruel.

Your dog will probably be fine. If it was just one drink he will probably act tipsy and then just sleep it off. However, if your rum and coke was one of those "would you like some coke with your rum" drinks then you might wanna take him to the vet.

If that's all he had...get out the video camera. And maybe a tripod, because you'll be laughing too hard to hold it. He should sleep it off. Give him two aspirin in the morning.

I would call the vet, tell them your dog is drunk and you need help. Maybe call 911? LMAO why were you drinking while kids were up anyways?

My dog used to drink my vodka and orange if I left it unattended. Your dog will be fine, but will probably have a taste for licquor henceforth, so you'll have to make sure not to leave drinks accessible again.

Maybe try a little of both, video and call the Vet.

Your dog must be just tipsy.
You see when humans when drunk crawl on all fours,
therefore a drunk dog should walk on its two feet !

Hmm .. I'd get the video camera out and send the tape to PETA.
